The Association of Flight Attendants (AFA) made a very public proposal to Delta Air Lines. The AFA will have the election for representation now if Delta allows the election to take place under rules that have never been practiced under the Railway Labor Act. The National Mediation Board (NMB) under the leadership of former AFA President is in the process of attempting to change the 75 year old voting rules. The NMB which is supposed to be non-partisan is stacking the deck in favor of the unions. Delta said “no” to the proposal and continues to accuse the AFA of delaying the election until these new rules are in place. Delta Flight Attendants have voted against the AFA twice in the last decade, but with the merger with Northwest Airlines believe they can win if they can stack the deck.
