Here’s a nice example of someone (with a proud union history even) peaking behind the curtain of reality under the EFCA.
“The worst thing that can happen to a union is eliminating the secret ballot. Why? Because it allows the mob to rule. Many years ago the British labor unions did not have a secret ballot, voting was done en masse, voice vote. Members who disagreed with proposals by the leadership were harassed, cajoled and sometimes physically threatened if they didn’t vote ‘Aye.’ “
The Union/Dem coalition want to have organized crime as their business partner on the one hand (we all know the mob goes where the money is – and think of all the dues collected in an EFCA-world), and the government on the other (as almost all contracts under the EFCA will be handed to businesses by government arbitrators). There won’t be much left for the valiant entrepreneurs of the most dynamic economic engine in the world to work with. Perhaps “entrepreneuring” will finally be outsourced as the rising stars with inovative ideas look for more business-friendly climates.
