CNA’s DeMoro Begs: “Vote For Me”

by | Jul 31, 2008 | Employee Free Choice Act

A recent CNA/NNOC eUpdate was urgently sent out to nurses around the country. In addition to asking them to help promote the EFCA (which effectively eliminates the secret ballot election for union organizing) they ironically asked members to vote for Rose Ann DeMoro as one of the “100 Most powerful People in Healthcare.” They call the vote an “annual competition” and brag that Ms. DeMoro has been “selected” for six consecutive years. I may be splitting hairs here, but are you really “selected” if you get 60,000 of your closest friends to stuff the ballot box? I’m surprised the CNA isn’t protesting outside the Modern Healthcare headquarters about the patent unfairness of this so-called secret ballot election process. But this is an election process they can rig, so I guess that makes it fair.
