Wal-Mart to close Quebec store?

You knew it was going to happen at some point. Wal-Mart is threatening to close one of the Canadian stores that is represented by a union. It would be really interesting to see the actual numbers from the store and to know what the union has on the table here, but let there be no doubt that Wal-Mart will walk if they don’t get an acceptable deal (they may walk anyway, which is their right). The problem with winning the right to represent Wal-Mart workers is that you then have to negotiate with Wal-Mart. They’re not the largest retailer in the history of the planet because they’re bad negotiators.
