UK Braces for Union Chaos

by | Jun 16, 2011 | News

The Daily Mail reports Britain is on the brink of “sustained” union militancy unlike anything the UK has seen in decades as public unions gear up for general strikes this summer. Teachers, clerks and Tube drivers are poised to “unleash hell” as promised over cutbacks, and 750,000 public workers are expected to strike this month alone. The unions had stockpiled a £25million ‘war chest’ in the event of a Tory election victory. A Tory official accused union barons of being ‘hell-bent on pursuing disruptive industrial action’ by calling damaging strikes which do not have the backing of the majority of their members.
