The lockout of SF hotel workers has been called off for a 60-day “cooling off” period (articles here and here). Probably not a sign of strength for either side (here’s an overstated view from the labor perspective), but a lockout during the holidays would really be a PR problem for the hotels. Hopefully they can get the contract settled before the new year but if they should lockout again in 60 days if the union doesn’t back off its demand for a 2-year agreement.
