Employee Free Choice In 2010? Stern Not Sure…

by | Nov 19, 2009 | Employee Free Choice Act, News

The Employee Free Choice Act may not pass in 2010 according to Andy Stern. Sounding a bit less like a prediction and a bit more like a kick in the seat of the pants, the SEIU Chief said today that he’s not sure the Democrats have the backbone (my word, not his) to take advantage of the historic 60-vote majority needed to pass the Employee Free Choice Act in 2010. Most will agree that Democrats squandered their best opportunity to pass EFCA earlier this year during Obama’s honeymoon, but there are a lot of key races that will be looking for money (and votes) from unions in 2010, so all may not be lost. Time will tell.
