Conn. Captive Audience Bill Passes House

by | May 14, 2011 | News

The Connecticut House narrowly passed a measure in the early morning hours that would ban employers from requiring employees hear their religious and political views, including their opinions  on unions. The bill received only two votes more than the minimum for passage after eleven hours of debate.  14 Democrats joined all 51 Republicans in opposition to the controversial legislation.  It’s unclear when the bill will be taken up by the senate where lengthy debate is expected.
