Good Rich or a Bad Rich, Revisited

by | Jun 16, 2011 | Uncategorized

It’s no secret that attacking the rich is the raison d’etre of the labor movement.  But being wealthy isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as long as you really love Big Labor. Take Nancy Pelosi for example.  We learn this week her personal fortune rose by 62% last year, from $21 to $43.4 million, due to her husband’s investments.  But Nancy would give it all up tomorrow, of course, to higher taxes or the right noble cause so no one considers her “rich” in that nasty hellish sort of way.  She is still, like a Kennedy, a politico of the little people.  As opposed to John Boehner, whose net worth of $2.1 million qualifies him to lead the League of the Evil Rich, otherwise known as the GOP.
