Airport Screeners Unionized

by | Jun 24, 2011 | Uncategorized

The American Federation of Government Employee now represents 44,000 airport security screeners having won a runoff election against the National Treasury Employees Union.  The AFGE is barred from calling strikes and other work disruptions and cannot negotiate pay or any issue that could impact national security.   But before all else organizers will now be busy pushing membership cards on TSA workers as dues are not mandatory.  (Only 17,000 workers participated in the run off election)
